Every Monday a Miami community leader will post a prayer here as part of this prayer blog. Their prayers will cover all areas of Miami from Liberty City to Fisher Island and will reflect the passions and burdens God has given them for this city. Make time on Monday mornings to join them in covering this city with prayer – for the children, for the poor, for protection, for the leaders, for the influential, for the economy, for the artists, or for whatever God is calling us to pray that week.

In addition, make it a priority in your own time to pray for your neighbors and your neighborhood. Pray for your city (Coconut Grove, Opa Locka, Hialeah, Coral Gables, etc.) and pray for Miami-Dade. Cover the people and the leaders. Pray that God would reveal to you what he is doing and that you would have the strength to respond in obedience. Use the comments area to post your own relevant prayer.

In your prayers pray for CPR - Cleansing, Protection, and Revival. Ask for forgiveness and cleansing. Ask for Protection from harm and evil. Ask for Revival in the hearts of the people. Ask God to pour out His spirit on this great place and that it will be a beacon in a dark world.

Pray that Miami would glow one day with the presence, power and glory of God
the way it now glows with neon. For more information: info@praymia.org

Our Spiritual Coma

"Oh, how deaf and blind you are toward me! Why won't you listen? Why do you refuse to see? Who in all the world is as blind as my own people, my servant? Who is as deaf as my messengers? Who is as blind as my chosen people, the servant of the Lord? You see and understand what is right but refuse to act on it. You hear, but you don't really listen." (Isaiah 42:18-20) Father God, is this us? Could you be speaking to us - your church in Miami? There is no doubt we are busy - very busy - even busy doing "things" for you. But are we being responsive to you? You have placed us in Miami in the midst of great opportunity at a critical time. Are we church asleep here in this city of global influence? Are we lost in our own thoughts and plans and dreams? As your church do we frustrate you? We need you to sharpen us, Father. Awaken our senses to you. Shake us from our coma. Strengthen the leaders you have put among us as they cry out to your church and draw us together. Awaken each of us as we pray this together now. Give us each a glimpse of your will at work today. Make us receptive and responsive to your will every moment of our day -- so that you would be glorified in our lives, so people will be touched by your presence, and so your renewal can permeate the city of Miami. What would that look like in this city, Lord? Amen and Amen.
