Father, you are our Creator God. You formed the universe with your word and from your imagination gave us life. You formed us in your image and gave us the unique ability to imagine and create. Thank you, Lord, for the inspiration of your creative spirit. Father, I ask that you would continue to pour out your blessings on this city of Miami. Permeate the community of artists this week as men and women from around the globe convene here to interact and connect. I pray that you would bless those artists who seek after you. Lift them to places of influence within the artistic community so that you would be glorified. Guide them, bless them, and inspire them, Lord, in as much as they seek your will. As you lift your artists to places of influence I pray that their creative work would be a reflection of your love and glory and that their works would bring you pleasure. Use them to inspire this city and to redeem our culture back to you. Amen.
Every Monday a Miami community leader will post a prayer here as part of this prayer blog. Their prayers will cover all areas of Miami from Liberty City to Fisher Island and will reflect the passions and burdens God has given them for this city. Make time on Monday mornings to join them in covering this city with prayer – for the children, for the poor, for protection, for the leaders, for the influential, for the economy, for the artists, or for whatever God is calling us to pray that week.
In addition, make it a priority in your own time to pray for your neighbors and your neighborhood. Pray for your city (Coconut Grove, Opa Locka, Hialeah, Coral Gables, etc.) and pray for Miami-Dade. Cover the people and the leaders. Pray that God would reveal to you what he is doing and that you would have the strength to respond in obedience. Use the comments area to post your own relevant prayer.
In your prayers pray for CPR - Cleansing, Protection, and Revival. Ask for forgiveness and cleansing. Ask for Protection from harm and evil. Ask for Revival in the hearts of the people. Ask God to pour out His spirit on this great place and that it will be a beacon in a dark world.
Pray that Miami would glow one day with the presence, power and glory of God
the way it now glows with neon. For more information: info@praymia.org

Thank you for your initiative to call us to prayer. I saw a movie this weekend: August Rush. I thought it was a beautiful illustration of the persistence of our Sovereign LORD. It is fiction. Many will say it could never happen like that in real life. Some will fear it will give unrealistic hope to orphans or children of adoption who may seek to find their birth parents. Classical musicians will critisize the music. All in all, it was refreshing to see a "parable" of how Our Father in Heaven has gifted us to serve Him and others and "our hearts are restless until we rest in HIM". Let's pray for "film artists" to do more movies that are unrealistic...void of nudity & profanity, filled with creativity and wholesome entertainment. The movie does show the "dark side" in a charming character who professes a commitment to our good while using us to acheive his selfish purposes. May we have the heart of the child who never stops listening to the longings his Father has placed in his heart. May we recognize the voice of the Shepherd and not follow another. May the LORD inspire even more "realistic movies" to entertain us and plant desires for HIM and HIS will in our hearts.
